Echobit Labs Releases December Snapshot of Korea’s On-Chain Market

Singapore / Seoul — Echobit Labs, the incubation and investment arm of global crypto platform Echobit, has released a December 2025 research snapshot examining South Korea’s on-chain market structure across user activity, capital allocation, and attention signals.

Rather than ranking individual blockchains or protocols, the report provides a structural overview of how major ecosystems are positioned across three observable dimensions: user reach, capital stickiness, and narrative attention. The full report and supporting data visualizations are available via Echobit Labs’ official channels, including its Medium publication and the Echobit Learn portal.

Users, Capital, and Structure

According to the snapshot, user activity and capital concentration vary significantly across ecosystems. Solana ranked first by monthly active users and showed a relatively diversified capital structure spanning decentralized exchanges, perpetual trading, lending, and yield-oriented infrastructure. BNB Chain followed with strong user reach and deep capital pools, particularly in DEX and lending-related sectors.

Near ranked high in user activity but displayed a smaller and more concentrated TVL base, suggesting strong distribution reach but comparatively weaker capital retention. Other ecosystems, including Tron, Aptos, and Sei Network, showed more specialized capital structures, often centered on lending and stablecoin-related activity.

Lending Dominates Capital Allocation

Across the observed ecosystems, lending protocols accounted for a substantial share of total value locked. Tron, BNB Chain, and Solana each maintained lending TVL at multi-billion-dollar levels, while smaller ecosystems such as Sei and Near exhibited lending-heavy structures at lower absolute scales. The report highlights lending as a consistent anchor for on-chain capital across heterogeneous chains.

Trading-related sectors, including decentralized exchanges and perpetuals, represented a smaller share of total TVL but continued to play a central role in transaction activity and user engagement, particularly on Solana and BNB Chain.

Attention Signals from Korea

The report also reviewed Korean search interest data for December. Keywords related to Points and Airdrops led attention, followed by terms associated with leverage, decentralized trading, and stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. This pattern suggests that market attention in Korea continues to skew toward incentives, trading access, and capital channels rather than single-chain narratives.

Notably, the report observes that attention signals and adoption metrics do not always align. While incentive-driven narratives often lead engagement, sustained capital accumulation remains concentrated in lending and yield-oriented infrastructure.

Sector Concentration and Market Implications

An analysis of sector concentration indicates that some ecosystems concentrate capital heavily within a small number of sectors, while others remain more diversified. Higher concentration can reflect clearer demand and shorter user paths, but it may also imply stronger incumbency and increased competition for new projects.

Overall, the findings suggest that South Korea’s on-chain market operates as a layered system, where user acquisition, transactional activity, and long-term capital commitment occur on different timelines and serve distinct functions within the ecosystem.
