The Year of the Fire Horse: Heritage, Stewardship and Leadership with Purpose

There are occasions where symbolism and responsibility align with quiet precision. The Chinese New Year luncheon held on Sunday 22 February 2026 at the Bright Courtyard Club, in support of The Racehorse Sanctuary Fund, was one such moment

Hosted by Pauline Wong, Founder of Pauline Wong Jewellery, the celebration welcomed the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse through an afternoon defined by elegance, philanthropy and cultural depth. Set against tones of red and gold — colours representing vitality, courage and prosperity — the gathering united enterprise, heritage and stewardship in a meaningful way.

In Chinese tradition, the Horse is not merely decorative symbolism. It represents discipline, endurance, loyalty and forward motion. The Fire Horse carries particular intensity — ambitious and independent, yet guided by honour. It moves with intent. It withstands pressure. It does not compromise its character.

Institutional Strength with Stewardship

Eton Holdings supported the luncheon as a sponsor. As a commercial retail investment firm rooted in long-term asset stewardship, Eton’s philosophy aligns naturally with the spirit of the Horse — resilience through market cycles, disciplined execution and conviction-led strategy.

Board Advisor and CMO Elvijs Plugis delivered reflections during celebration on sustainable growth and responsible leadership. He emphasised that markets may fluctuate, but integrity, patience and disciplined capital allocation remain constants. Business, when grounded in responsibility, becomes more than transaction — it becomes legacy.

Rebeca Riofrio, Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Society and Board Advisor to Eton Holdings, delivered an address that drew together themes of renewal and principled leadership

She spoke of new beginnings not as sentiment, but as disciplined decisions. Of opportunities requiring courage. Of leadership anchored in loyalty and integrity.

Her message resonated clearly: strength must be accompanied by stewardship.

Philanthropy at the Core

At the centre of the afternoon stood The Racehorse Sanctuary Fund — supporting the welfare and rehoming of former racehorses

To care for thoroughbreds beyond their racing careers is to honour both achievement and responsibility. Power once unleashed deserves protection once its purpose has shifted.

Guests participated in a jewellery raffle and auction, including the distinctive Chameleon six-in-one design — a piece symbolising versatility, craftsmanship and sustainability

Among the distinguished attendees were Princess Katarina of Serbia, Dr Olga Roh, Alexandra Shchelkonogova, Audrone Gedrimaite and Abhisheik Singh, alongside international guests whose presence reflected the global character of the celebration.

A Year to Move with Intent

Beyond the ceremony and speeches, a quieter understanding remained. Renewal is not accidental. Momentum must be earned. Loyalty remains among the rarest currencies in leadership.

The Fire Horse does not hesitate at the gate. It answers the call with discipline and purpose.

As the new year unfolds, the message from this gathering was clear: lead with integrity, move with courage, steward strength responsibly — and build for the long term.
