Thrad and Cursor Lead Hackathon on Agentic Commerce Infrastructure
Event convenes the ecosystem – from 10 Downing Street to leading venture capital – around a critical infrastructure moment: how advertising evolves as AI agents become autonomous commercial operators.
Thrad and Cursor are driving the first adtech hackathon on agentic commerce this month, bringing together 150+ developers and founders to build the infrastructure layer for AI-native advertising. The initiative reflects a moment of genuine inflection: as AI agents move from assistants to autonomous operators, managing targeting, bidding, campaign optimization, and creative generation without human oversight, the question is no longer whether advertising will evolve inside these systems, but how it should be built responsibly and at scale.
By establishing this hackathon, Thrad and Cursor are positioning themselves as the architects of that infrastructure. The judge panel reinforces the stakes: David Gelberg (AI Innovation Fellow at 10 Downing Street), founding engineers from Overmind, and investors from Strand Ventures and Earlybird Venture Capital will be present. This event is where the infrastructure that shapes the next decade of digital commerce gets built.

Teams will tackle the core technical challenges that will define agentic commerce: conversational advertising formats, autonomous media buying agents, AI-native attribution, prompt-aware ranking systems, creative generation workflows, and monetisation infrastructure. Participants will ship prototypes using Cursor’s development platform alongside Overmind, Tavily, and Thrad’s advertiser platform.
“Agentic commerce is not a distant future – it is happening now. We are hosting this hackathon because the most interesting solutions in this space will emerge from developers who understand both AI capabilities and commercial mechanics. Cursor has built the best environment for rapid AI development, and our partnership with them makes this the natural place to explore what becomes possible when you combine that with infrastructure for monetisation inside AI conversations.”
– Andrea F. Tortella CEO and Co-Founder, Thrad
This event signals where the industry sees the next inflection point led by Thrad and Cursor. With government policy makers, venture capital, and some of the most advanced AI teams in the room, the message is clear: agentic commerce is no longer speculative. It’s where infrastructure investment is moving now.
